Behavior Professional and Agency Trainer

We are looking for a creative, growth-oriented, and compassionate Behavior Professional and Agency Trainer to be a member of a collaborative team assessing and individual's behavior support needs. Primary functions include developing a Functional Behavioral Assessment and a Positive Behavior Support Plan for each supported individual, ensuring these plans are effective and appropriate, and adjusting the plans as required. This position is also responsible for training staff in plan requirements as well as conducting new employee orientation, core competencies, Oregon Intervention System, computer systems, software, and agency policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Possess a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in psychology, sociology, human services, education, social work, or equivalent, AND three years of experience using positive behavior support services with individuals who experience intellectual or developmental disabilities.
2. OR A minimum of six years of experience performing professional behavior services using positive behavior support services prior to January 1,2021.
3. Current registration with State of Oregon as a Behavior Professional and Oregon Intervention System Instructor OR ability to obtain and maintain these qualifications.
4. Background in training and group facilitation.
5. Successfully pass a State and Federal criminal background check upon hire and a re-check every two years.
6. Possess a valid Oregon driver's license and pass a driving record screening.
7. Successful completion and submission of all required assurances and tests withing the time frames noted in the "Personnel Records" section of the SOH Employee Handbook.
8. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds. Frequent, daily squatting, bending, and stooping.
9. Must be able to engage and maintain Oregon Intervention System (OIS) approved restraints for one (1) hour of less.
10. Regular flexible schedule to include all three shifts for purposes of staff training, observation, support, ect.
11. Work overtime as assigned to provide necessary staffing 7 days a week/ 24 hours a day.
12. Must be able to travel which may include over nights.

Duties:

1. Serve as Agency Behavior Professional with all associated duties as determined by the position requirements indicated by the Administrative Rules of the State of Oregon and in collaboration with the Star of Hope Behavior Team.
2. Conduct all Agency Training in collaboration with the Star of Hope Training Team; leading, developing, documenting, and tracking all requirements for 170 agency employees.
