Recycling glass is an important aspect of keeping our Earth clean.  It takes approximately one million years for a glass bottle to break down at a landfill.

                                  Additionally:
The average American generates 79.5 pounds of
  glass per yr.

Recycling one ton of glass saves the equivalent of 10
gallons of oil.

The energy saved from recycling one wine bottle will
operate a 100-watt light bulb for three hours.

Recycling wine bottles is an extension of Star of Hope's passion for providing quality services to the community while providing paid employment opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities.

The Star of Hope Wine Bottle Rescuers Enterprise received a generous grant from the Coquille Tribal Community fund in February of 2005 that enabled the purchase of our Cask Bottle Washing Machine.  This has allowed us to increase both our quality and output of recycled bottles for our customers.

The funding priorities of the Coquille Tribal Community Fund include Education, Health, Public Safety, Problem Gaming, Environmental Issues, Arts & Culture and Historic Preservation.  Monies for the Fund are derived as a percentage of revenues from The Mill Casino •  Hotel.  Information regarding the Coquille Tribal Community Fund is available by contacting the Fund Administrator at  communityfund@themillcasino.com, or by phone at 541-756-8800 or 800-953-4800, extension 515.

As of February 1, 2006, until further notice, Star of Hope will no longer be accepting wine bottles to be recycled.  Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause.

We do, however, still have wine bottles for purchasing.
