Volunteers give our clients the chance to learn, interact and grow, as well as helping a local non-profit to better provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Are you interested in volunteering your services to enrich the lives of people with developmental disabilities? Volunteering could turn out to be one of the most interesting and rewarding experiences of your life. Star of Hope always needs people who can make a one-on-one connection with people who have special talents or gifts to share.
If you play a musical instrument or like to make handcrafts, many people served by Star of Hope would enjoy hearing you perform, get the chance to work with someone on art projects or reading with someone. The possibilities are endless.
Opportunities are available in the main office, the residences, community inclusion and vocational departments. As a volunteer, you decide if you want to make one visit or donate your services on an on-going basis for the jobs listed below:
Fresh Alliance Food Sorting - Every Friday from 2pm to 3pm.
Costco Supply Sorting - Every other Friday from 11am to 12pm
Leading Art and Craft Classes - 1 hour a week
Assisting Clients to Thread Looms
Musicians - Provide music Monday through Friday from 1pm to 2pm
Reading with Clients
Taking walks with Clients
Helping with Individual Arts, Crafts and Puzzles
Star of Hope's Bluegrass Bash
Valentine's with the Stars Dinner and Dance
Wine Tasting
Answering phones
Opening Mail/Preparing Postage
Filing
Preparing and Routing Interoffice Envelopes
