What is the Acktion Club?
The Acktion Club is a group composed of adult citizens who live with disabilities. The Bay Area Kiwanis Club, composed of leading business and professional people of the community, and Star of Hope serve as the Acktion Club sponsors. The Star of Hope provides an agency staff coordinator to attend functions and advise Kiwanis members.

Acktion Club meetings will be held at the Star of Hope Main Building located at 657 Newmark Avenue in the Empire District of Coos Bay at 3pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.
January: 9th & 23rd

May: 8th & 22nd
June: 12th & 26th
July: 10th & 24th

September 7th. 8th and 9th (Camping Trip)

December: 11th (No meeting on the 25th)
Any scheduled activities will be discussed at each meeting with posters handed out for information on how to join the Acktion Club.

ACKTION CLUB NEWS FLASH
Partnering with community members is what it is all about. Acktion Club participated in presenting a Thanksgiving event with the Hollywood Dreams club and the Holy
Redeemer Catholic Church. Everyone pitched in to give the opportunity for over one hundred individuals to share on this traditional Holiday of giving Thanks.
After winding up the Lund Park Project this year the Bay Area Kiwanis Club and the Acktion Club Joined Hands with several other community members to clean up the Marshfield Cemetery. Special thanks to Ted J., Cathy C., Cheryl M. and David S. for their help with this project.
SPECIAL MENTION
Special thanks to our cantina workers, Allen B., Cheryl M., David S., and Ted J.. for their dedication to duty as volunteer workers. Honorable mention to Karen C., Sally B., Barry C., Jeanelle S., and Shawn K. whom made the camping trip possible by volunteering their time and energy.
